When I’m in good mood I can really move
Josephine 50 from Germany. Photographer. Divorced. Mum of one.
How are you?
It’s a beautiful day and I feel good and content. It doesn't mean there aren't any problems but life is good. I had an epiphany an 'ah' moment. That’s what life is all about - it's a privilege and to know and understand that is huge. To be able to see the moon and know the planets are moving and spinning, it’s incredible. To see a sunset, is a gift, that's what it’s all about - take a proper look.
How do you feel about kids?
Kids are the adults without the pretence and facade, they just are. They haven't had convention put on them yet. The older they get the less interesting they become.
How do you think other people see you?
I think people think I am stronger than I am. I think they think I have an air of arrogance which I don’t intend to have. My parents are from the upper classes of Germany and I’ve had manners and etiquette ingrained into me. At my funeral I’d like to have 'Common People' played by Pulp as a last rebellion against the upmarket lot!
What brings you down?
Alcohol and the hangover that comes with it, but saying that alcohol lifts me up too. I hate it when people say NO and I can’t bare ignorance, arrogance, laziness, sloppiness and negativity.
What are your dreams and desires?
To have a beautiful house in a beautiful place and enough money to travel. I would like to see this beautiful planet that I’m on. I love to learn and be creative. I’d like the freedom to do more of that.
Where does all your energy go?
I am a worrier. I burn myself out with worry sometimes. I should use that energy to be creative.
How do you best express yourself?
Through my photography and dancing, when I’m in good mood I can really move! There’s fluidity in movement.
How do you feel about relationships?
The hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with was getting away from that abusive relationship. I wasn’t actually aware until I left how psychologically bullied I was. There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship, you just have to doodle along!
What would you like to leave for the next generation?
For people to understand the importance of values. There is no respect for the elderly. Old people are wise and they have something to teach us, they know stuff we can’t understand.
Are you free?
If I had a million pounds in the bank I’d be free. Money gives you freedom and security - a blanket of survival.
