How are you?

I am at a crossroads because of my age. I’m still renting and constantly worrying about money. If I was two years younger I wouldn't be thinking about it. I am happy in my career but I worry about the future.

What do you think about marriage?

It's a good institution but it has to be worked at. Don’t take it for granted and remember why you got married. It does make you more stable.

How do other people see you?

Quiet relaxed and laid back. Talkative, a good laugh, kind and generous.

What brings you down?

My Dad, he has Alzheimers. I alway used to phone my Dad for advice, I miss not being able to talk to him.

What are your dreams?

My passion are flowers. If I had the money I would have my own florist in a lovely place with a coffee shop attached. Flowers get me up in the morning!

Where does all your energy go?

Work! I’d like to say my family but it’s work. If my brain starts it won’t stop. I find it very hard to switch off and relax.

What do you like about yourself?

I like me. I’m happy with myself.

How do you see yourself?

I have a care free attitude and I think I under sell myself. Sometimes I take myself too seriously.

How do you best express yourself?

Through flowers. Although I love dancing and would have loved to have been on the stage as a backing singer for Madonna or Michael Jackson.

Who what inspires you?

Flowers and gardens. I love being in the garden I find it very therapeutic. I love that nature gives us every single colour and it all works. I am very colour sensitive.

How do yo feel about the daily chores?

I don’t really go in the kitchen or even wash up, we have role reversal in our house.

What’s your view on faith?

I believe there is a god but I have issues with the Catholic faith. I do believe in the afterlife. If you don’t ask, and I mean pray, you’ll never know!

What’s your most memorable experience?

I was working as a florist in Manchester and there was a florist job advertised in the Manchester Evening News - in Bermuda. I applied and got it! I was 33 years old, it was 1997. I lived in Bermuda for seven years, I met my husband there and we got married.

What do you think about life?

Live in the moment. That comes about because of my Dad. Be gracious of what you have. I don’t own my own house but I have a roof over my head. I have a nice car and I am grateful for what I’ve got.

What would you like to leave for the next generation?

Never say you can’t because you can. Never say it won’t happen, always try to be positive. If there’s a will there’s a way, although I don’t act on it myself. If you have a goal - try to achieve it.

Are you free?

Yes I think so, I’m not tied down to anything.

What have you taken from today?

I’m going to go away from this more positive. I feel very inspired, I am going to get my arse in gear and DO IT!
