I’ve just ordered a reprint
October has proved eventful. It started off with ‘a day in the life of a super model’ - not really - it was just me; the photographer, the lady from the WI and an awful lot of cake.
I turn up to ‘Townhouse’ in Soho and was asked if I wouldn't mind ‘sitting’ amongst cake stands filled with delicate sandwiches, homemade jam and cream scones, battenberg and the most delicious chocolate torte - shouldn’t be too tricky!
‘Just smile’ she kept saying! I’m not sure if I looked authentic after an hour of smiling but hey - life doesn't get much better than sitting in a swish hotel, surrounded by homemade delicacies and getting my very own page in the WI magazine. The issue is out next month.
A week later I head North to interview one of my many men! A superb weekend. One day spent interviewing - the eye watering honesty was heart warming, these men really do open up and the next day walking around Ullswater in the Lake District - heaven on earth. I see I am going to enjoy scouting the country for men!
The following week my husband is at a conference in New Orleans, and (this is a first) I get to go too! What a place, a 100 degree heat but oh so very very lovely. The French Quarter, the Garden District, street cars and a trip on the Bayou. We ate Jambalaya and Gumbo and now I feel like a travel advisor but if you get the chance to go - GO
Back to work and in between restocking book shops, transcribing my interviews and doing talks, I’m booked to go on BBC Radio London - the Jo Good show, yikes. Comfort zone challenged - again! I am very good at saying yes to things and worrying about them later which is good because it’s not until November. I am also learning that I don’t need to make a big drama out of everything that’s new - it will be ok.
But the best news of all, my stock is now low - Christmas is round the corner so I’ve just ordered a REPRINT - another 1,000 copies heading my way.
