How are you?

I am feeling inspired. Thinking about my 50th year and embracing it. I'm being open about the menopause too and trying not to be encumbered by it. I’d like to demystify the menopause, it needs publicity. I feel like I want to retreat into my cave and shed.

How do you feel about the weather?

I love the weather. I try and see good in it. If it’s a miserable rainy day then it’s a hot Ribena day and therefore a lovely day.

How do you feel about children?

They're just love, joy and emotion. More emotion than you ever imagined or ever knew you had in you.

What’s your most memorable experience?

Giving birth. It was more memorable with my first because I was off my face with my second so I don’t remember that one! I can still feel the weight of him being put on my chest. Midwives are angels. What a joyous thing to help someone give birth.

What brings you down?

Moody kids. I always try to be upbeat but I can’t bare bad behaviour.

Where does all your energy go?

I walk a lot. Cooking, my work, yoga and talking about my Mums' boyfriend - he takes a lot of our time and energy!

What makes you tick?

When I'm out walking my dog I'm amazed by the beauty around me. I love making myself a bowl of porridge, a cup of green tea and savouring the moment. It's the small things.

How do you see yourself?

As someone who is trying to evolve and hopefully open to change. I’m more afraid of my Mum not changing than me.

The day I moved house had such a positive change on me. I feel confident, independent and sexy. I am a very sensual person.

What do you like about yourself?

On the whole I like myself more than I used to. It’s a coming of age thing, not being so bothered about the way I look.

I try to follow 'The four Agreements' by Don Ruiz Miguel: "Be impeccable with your word. Don’t take anything personally. Don’t make assumptions. Always do your best". Other people can love you but you must love yourself and be kind to yourself - it's a perfect gift to yourself.

How do you best express yourself?

Through music and fashion. Music is the essence of life, it can change and enhance a mood. I love clothes. I like to be sexy, and I hope - stylish. I have one lipstick and I have worn the same colour for years. I won't go out of the house without it!

Who or what inspires you?

Music, nature, beautiful sunsets. Incredible moss, smells of coffee, ground pepper and rosemary. I'm a touchy feely person, I need to have a lot of that in my life.

What do you think about life?

I feel blessed to have been born in a time before the internet and technology and to have experienced both ways of life. Experience other towns and countries, parks and woodlands, go into other worlds.

What are your thoughts on faith?

God is what you want it to be. God is everything. I don’t believe in God but I believe in love.

What do you think about death?

Everyone has it with them in someway or another. I’m scared of it as I don’t want to die. I’m trying to embrace it but I’d rather not talk about it too much. I’m scared it will pull me in.

What would you like to leave for the next generation?

Peace and calm, self knowledge, true honesty and lot of trees. Never assume anything about anyone - the Samaritans taught me that.

Are you free?

In many senses I am because I am happy. Freedom is happiness and happiness is how you feel.
